Year 7 Enterprise Day

On Tuesday the 18th of November all of Year 7 took part in a "Social Entrepreneur" Challenge Day. The day started with an assembly which introduced the students to the world of Enterprise. It was supported by experts from industry who spoke to the students about the relevance of the day and the skills that are necessary in the wider world. The students worked in Teams to develop a new concept to help solve a variety of social problems. They then had to present at the end of the day in the Main Hall in front of a panel of experts. The judges were absolutely blown away by the creativity and talent of the students. It was a privilege to host such a day where the students developed real life skills, i.e.  teamwork and leadership. The Tutor Team 7W won overall and 7A came a very close second. These events are designed to support students in thinking outside of the box, to build resilience, engagement and foster an eagerness in looking to the future. They are one of many events which take place across the year groups, each one builds on the prior event in keeping with the phase of their aspirational journey.
