Our School App Stay connected on the go...
How we communicate home to families and our wider community is incredibly important to us and we want to make sure we get it right. Below you will find information and guides informing you how we communicate messages home and what you as a member of our Waingels community can do to engage best with us.
Our main communication system is School Gateway. This means that we can communicate with parents quickly and cost effectively via email, text and smartphone app. Using the app means we can send you app messages that you can reply to, for FREE.
For full information and guides on how to download and operate this system please view our School Gateway webpage here.
This is the learning platform that we use to set homework for students and in the event of school closure home learning is posted and submitted on this platform. Students will be issued with their login details and have a dedicated computer lesson to learn how to use it.
We ask that all parents download the parent app on their smart phones, visit your app store and search for “Show My Homework”. Sign in with your unique PIN number that you will be given in the first few weeks of school and you can access homework details direct from your mobile device. This helps you to support your child with their homework and access communications from the school. Due date reminders, feedback and notifications of missing work can be viewed through the app.
For full information and guides on how to download and operate this system please view our Satchel:One and Show my Homework webpage here.
This app is designed to help you access important school information that has been uploaded to our website quickly and easily from your mobile device. Examples include term dates, urgent announcements, letters home and events like school photographs or special days, it’s a convenient way to keep up to date with school life on the go.
More information about School Connect can be found on our School Connect webpage here.
For up-to-date information regarding trips, snow days, Parent Consultation Events and much more, we post to our Twitter and Facebook accounts. We are also fortunate to be able to share images and videos with you through our Instagram and YouTube accounts. All subjects have Twitter accounts, please follow them for subject specific information.
You may notice that school staff, when sending sensitive information to you, may use a secure email system. This system is totally separate to School Comms – School Comms will not be affected in any way by this.
Secure Email will be used when the school communicates with you by email and there is a need for additional security.
Below are some instructions to support you with opening up secure emails from school staff.
