Remembrance Wreath Laying- November 2020

On Monday 9th November, we went to the Woodley War Memorial in Woodford Park to lay a wreath on behalf of the whole Waingels community. This service was presented by Mr Bartlett and we remembered the war soldiers that gave their lives for our country. We wore poppies to the event to symbolize remembrance.

There were informative boards behind the memorial, which explained the experiences of different soldiers, and their families from Woodley, who fought in World War One. It was an honour to be chosen to represent our school.

In History, we made WW1 scrapbooks that followed soldiers’ experiences in the trenches. Our scrapbooks showed how they passed the time including drawings, songs, letters and diaries
