European Day of Languages Bake Off

On the 26th September we celebrated the European Day of Languages. This annual celebration is an opportunity to reflect upon, and celebrate, the different Languages spoken within our Waingels community, as well as around the world. This event culminated in our annual European bake-off competition, which, this year, was kindly organised by Miss Cinque.

We were extremely impressed by the diverse and exotic range of bakes from all over the world and the judges had a very tough time choosing a winner! The 1st prize was eventually awarded to Heather Mahoney and Jessica Dimond from Year 8 who baked a “fraisier” cake from France. C’était délicieux! We also managed to raise more than £80 for Macmillan, which was a fantastic achievement.
