Trips

Trips and Off-Site Activities

As we are in Covid recovery we are starting to resume domestic educational visits. These trips will include any trips for specific pupils connected with their preparation for adulthood (for example, workplace visits, travel training, visiting colleges etc.). We are being cautious and taking advice from Wokingham Council before returning to some pre-covid off-site activities and overseas- trips. We are continuously reviewing this, and these will resume when we believe that it is safe to do so and that we are minimising the risk of trip cancellations and lost deposits.

All trips that are going ahead will be in line with the up to date guidance and we insure we are able to secure the protective measures required, such as keeping children within their consistent group, and the coronavirus (COVID-19) secure measures in place at the destination.

As normal, we at Waingels, will undertake full and thorough risk assessments in relation to all educational visits to ensure that these can be done safely. As part of this risk assessment, we will consider what control measures need to be used to ensure that we are aware of wider advice on visiting indoor and outdoor venues.

Waingels, as with all schools, will consult the health and safety guidance on educational visits when considering visits.

Those students that are entitled to free school meals, receive pupil premium funding or entitled to the service children funding may be eligible for financial support with educational trips or visits. To receive support please email pupilsupport@waingels.wokingham.sch.uk
