MPS/UPS + TLR 2.3
January, April or September 2024 Start
We are seeking to appoint a committed enthusiastic teacher with the ability to teach Mathematics to GCSE to take responsibility for the leadership of either Key Stage Three or Key Stage Four. This post is an ideal opportunity for a teacher of mathematics looking for their first responsibility or for a more experienced teacher looking to change roles. The ability to teach mathematics to A-Level would be an advantage.
Waingels is a very successful 11 to 18 Comprehensive school serving its local community. Our successes and achievements can be attributed to our commitment to establish and grow a Better Never Stops culture, providing a safe, inclusive and rich learning environment where students feel safe and valued. We set high standards and expect all our students and staff to be respectful, kind, resilient and proud of our school, our achievements and our community. The successful candidate will join a highly motivated department and will have the opportunity to teach at KS3, 4 and 5.
Our values underpin our “Waingels Ready” expectations that we have for everyone within the Waingels community. These expectations form the basis of everything we do, and everything we believe in as a school and as a community.
We were very pleased with our recent Ofsted feedback (June 2023) and how it has endorsed the achievements, improvements and direction that we are travelling in. Ofsted noted that:
- “Pupils enjoy being part of the inclusive community that is Waingels College”
- The school is a “kind and caring school”
- “Leaders, including governors, value the work of all staff.”
- “Staff are positive about the school. They appreciate how leaders take their workload and well-being into consideration.
“New staff and early careers teachers speak highly of the support and mentoring that they have received”
Mathematics continues to be a highly successful subject which is very popular at A-Level. You would be joining a team of eleven hard working, teachers with a range of experience and a dedicated mathematics teaching assistant who provides support for students in the classroom. The department is well resourced with each classroom equipped with an interactive whiteboard. Mathematics uses White Rose Maths to support their teaching and use the mastery approach in the majority of lessons.
Outside the formal curriculum we offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities and clubs. Our students travel the world – recent trips have been to China, Poland, Berlin, skiing in Utah, and Barcelona, along with many opportunities to attend fieldwork, theatres and museums more locally. Our students are also very active in the community working alongside local and overseas charities to raise money for good causes.
If you feel your values and ethos align with ours, this is an exciting opportunity for you! We are looking for someone with energy and vision that is ambitious for themselves and the young people of the school. You will have a growth mindset and believe in offering dynamic Mathematics learning across the Key Stages.
Working with us offers you the opportunity to;
· Join a positive school where effort and success is celebrated
· Engage in excellent and personalised professional development opportunities
· Have the support of a dynamic leadership team to ‘take risks’ in a supportive environment
So, if…
-you have a passion for teaching and learning…
-you believe in curriculum innovation and enjoy thinking strategically…
-you believe in an aspirational education…
-you believe that better never stops…
…Waingels is the place for you to pursue and advance your career!
Our staff and students are proud of our school and we would be happy to welcome you if you would like to come and have a closer look.
