We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative teacher to teach 3D Design/Product Design and Food & Nutrition. Students thrive on our practical curriculum. Our well equipped workshops and food room coupled with a  project based curriculum ensure that students are equipped with a wide range of skills in design, food preparation, food safety, woodwork and metalwork. This post is an ideal opportunity for any teacher who is able to deliver high quality lessons and who embodies are values of Respect, Kindness, Resilience and Pride.

Our values underpin our “Waingels Ready” expectations that we have for everyone within the Waingels community.  These expectations form the basis of everything we do, and everything we believe in as a school and as a community.

Waingels is a very successful 11 to 18 Comprehensive school serving its local community. Our successes and achievements can be attributed to our commitment to establish and grow a Better Never Stops culture, providing a safe, inclusive and rich learning environment where students feel safe and valued. We set high standards and expect all our students and staff to be respectful, kind, resilient and proud of our school, our achievements and our community.  The successful candidate will join a highly motivated department and will have the opportunity to teach at KS3 and 4, with the possibility of some teaching at KS5 in the future for the right candidate.

We welcome applications from experienced teachers and ECTs with full support given throughout the ECT induction period.

Product Design and Food are both very popular subjects at GCSE where they are taught as two separate subjects. At KS3, students are taught both subjects on rotation, allowing them to work in our well equipped Food Room and workshops. They will have the opportunity to develop a range of food preparation skills and will regularly prepare a range of food from different cultures whilst learning about food safety and issues affecting the  production and availability of food. In Product Design, students will get to learn how to use hand and machine tools to create a range of products, many of which are displayed in our school exhibitions.
