We are seeking to appoint an excellent practitioner to join our successful team as a teacher of Criminology. The ability to teach other social sciences would be an advantage. This is an exciting opportunity for either an experienced or a newly qualified teacher to join our dynamic social sciences team to deliver Criminology to Key Stage 5.
Criminology is taught as a Social Science and its teachers form part of a talented and committed team of Social Science professionals. Within Social Science we offer a breadth of subjects including Belief and Life (KS3 and KS4), Psychology (KS4 and KS5), RS (KS4 and KS5), Health and Social Care (KS4 & KS5), Citizenship (KS4), Politics (KS5), Criminology (KS5).
You should be an enthusiastic and motivational individual who is an excellent classroom practitioner, capable of delivering high quality lessons in Criminology. You should have the ability to work as part of a team of colleagues with a proven track record of supporting students to be highly successful academically and personally.
If appointed, you would join a friendly team of professionals who continually strive for excellence and improve their practice through a range of CPD activities, including professional dialogue and discussion of evidence-based pedagogy. The successful applicant will be required to teach a range of key stages, as well as having excellent organisational and inter-personal skills.
Waingels is a very successful 11 to 18 Comprehensive school serving its local community. We are also very proud of the achievements of our students. Under the new measures our students at Key Stage 4 made very good progress and we are above national average in all measures. We are delighted that the vast majority of our students stay on to our Sixth Form and that 97% of our leavers gain a place at University or choose to enter apprenticeships and employment.
