Waingels are committed to improving the life chances of students through the development of employability skills as well as to increase motivation, raise aspirations and achievement, equip students with the knowledge and skills to make effective decisions, and help with developing career management and employability skills.

The school is looking for a skilled and experienced person to be responsible for Careers Provision to all students from Year 7 through to Year 13. This work will contribute to the successful transition of students to a variety of post 16 destinations and higher education and employment. The role will involve working closely with the Assistant Headteacher responsible for careers and other members of the careers team working together to give support to students giving them careers guidance, to supporting them in completing applications forms and giving them opportunities to find out more about work and education opportunities.

Flexibility with working hours is important as some evening work will be required due to the expectation to attend Waingels open evenings and parent consultation evenings, as well as results days.

Waingels’ successes and achievements can be attributed to our commitment to establish and grow a Better Never Stops culture, providing a safe, inclusive and rich learning environment where students feel safe and valued, founded on respectful relationships for all. Our ethos and culture are values based. We set high standards and expect all our students and staff to be respectful, kind, resilient and proud of our school, our achievements and our community.

Our values underpin our “Waingels Ready” expectations that we have for everyone within the Waingels community. These expectations form the basis of everything we do, and everything we believe in as a school and as a community.

We are very pleased with our recent Ofsted feedback (February 2018) and how it has endorsed the achievements, improvements and direction that we are travelling in. Ofsted noted that:

- Staff feel that they are “valued as their opinions are considered when reshaping practices” and that  “people have the courage to try new things and we share success”

- “Pupils behave well in lessons and have a good attitude towards learning”

If you feel your values and ethos align with ours, this is an exciting opportunity for you! We are looking for someone with energy and vision that is ambitious for themselves and the young people of the school.

Working with us offers you the opportunity to;

  • Join a positive school where effort and success is celebrated
  • Engage in excellent and personalised professional development opportunities
  • Have the support of a dynamic leadership team to ‘take risks’ in a supportive environment
  • Self-employed candidates supported
  • Support to gain level 6 qualification

So, if…

-you have a passion for teaching and learning and supporting students…

-you believe that better never stops…

…Waingels is the place for you to pursue and advance your career!
