World Book Day

Img 2039

World Book Day was scheduled to be on the 1st March, but staff and students encountered a problem – the snow! Waingels took the decision to move the date to the 8th March so that the school would still have a chance to celebrate. Several teachers dressed up, including a hoard of Mr Men and Little Misses as well as Winnie the Pooh and Piglet. The day is to promote reading to all ages. Students see characters they have known and loved as students, and have the opportunity to discover a new character that they want to read about. Reading is not only an important skill, but the ability for you to escape life for a few hours. Hopefully next year we will be able to celebrate World Book Day with the rest of the country.
