Standards are rising rapidly. Ofsted 2018
Our curriculum provides a broad and balanced learning experience for all students across all years. We see our curriculum as being holistic, with our resources carefully planned to flow seamlessly from the moment students join us in Year 7 until the point they leave us at the end of Year 11 or 13.
In Year 7 students are taught the separate subjects of Mathematics & Computing, English, Science, Religious Studies, Physical Education, History, Geography, Modern Foreign Language, Art & Design Technology, Drama and Music. These classes are taught by subject specialists to enhance the learning experience.
Towards the end of Year 8 we ask our students to tailor their Year 9 Arts and Performing Arts subjects. This means that in Year 9 they can spend more time on the areas they enjoy the most which allows their talents to flourish without limit.
In Year 9 students begin the GCSE curriculum in Mathematics, English and Science. In March students choose their GCSE option subjects which they continue until the end of Year 11. These GCSE subject choices mark the transition towards the all-important final assessments in Year 11.
We offer a broad curriculum opportunity in our Sixth Form. Further details can be found in our Sixth Form Prospectus.
