Year 13 Results Day
A Level and BTEC Results will be available for collection from 8am on Thursday 16th August in the Sixth Form. If your son or daughter is unable to attend please ensure alternative arrangements have been made for receiving their results either by providing us with a self-addressed envelope or by asking a family member to attend, along with ID and a letter from your son/daughter to confirm they have permission to do so. Students will receive a letter in their envelope requesting information about their destination. These can be returned to us on results day or can be posted back to us at a later date. This is information requested by Wokingham Borough Council.
The Careers Advisor and the Sixth Form Team, along with a number of teachers, will be available from 8am – 12pm to support students in making any changes or decisions to their post Waingels plans. You, as parents, are also welcome to attend. Please encourage your son or daughter to be proactive in seeking our support if they need it. Students who have applied for university may find that they will have received a confirmation of their offer through UCAS by this point, however please do not panic if you have not. Different universities and courses operate differently. Regardless of any communication it will be important that students come to school to collect their exam results. We will install additional phones throughout the Sixth Form area so that they can make contact with universities if they decide to apply for Clearing or Adjustment. Students should ensure they come with their ID number and particularly their own logon and password details for UCAS.
UCAS – CLEARING IS NOW OPEN. Students who still want to apply for courses starting in 2018 can apply through Clearing, which is now open. All vacancies will be displayed in UCAS’ search tool, which is the only official source of Clearing course information. This applies to students who have not applied to UCAS or have not received any offers for courses they have applied to.
UCAS – ADJUSTMENT. Students who have applied to university and done better than expected can review their course selection. By following the instructions at UCAS Adjustment students can review what courses they may be able to adjust into for example a past pupil had planned to study English Literature but on results day adjusted to study Law. This facility will become available on results day.
Please note that access to the school network and email account will no longer be active for students after results day. Please ask your son or daughter to ensure that any important documents they may have saved on the school network are copied to an external source if they wish to keep them.
If you have any questions regarding the above please do not hesitate to get in touch.
